Facilities Worker

Facilities workers are the front line for the overall maintenance and improvement of the physical grounds and buildings of Tonto Rim Christian Camp.

• Repair and maintenance of camp vehicles, facilities, and property
• Landscaping and groundskeeping
• Safe operation of tractors, trucks, trailers, and other vehicles
• Safe operation of various minor equipment and tools

• Assisting other departments when facilities-related needs arise (moving furniture, ladder work, heavy lifting, etc.)
• Assisting with weather-related issues: snow removal, water damage, roofing issues, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Ability to organize and maintain a clean work area
• Ability to follow instructions, learn new skills, and accept guidance/supervision
• Ability to work alone and with others in a timely manner
• Excellent attitude with guests and co-workers
• Background in maintenance or another construction trade is preferred, but not necessary
• Strong aptitude for problem solving

• A growing love of God consistent with their character
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to work some weekends and odd hours, as needed
• Current driver license
• Agreement with Tonto Rim’s mission‑vision‑values, doctrinal statement, and compliance with employee handbook

• Ability to work outside in inclement/extreme weather conditions (hot and cold)
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Abilities sufficient to carry out the essential functions of the job, including good balance

• Grounds repairs including mowing, weed whacking, raking, using mechanical blowers, tree removal and cleanup, sprinkler system repairs, snow removal, etc.
• Drywall repair including hole patching, texturing, painting, caulking
• Minor electrical, plumbing, or HVAC repairs
• Minor roof repairs
• Minor carpentry work, both rough and finish
• Minor repair on camp vehicles and equipment
• Occasional use of heavy equipment such as tractors, excavators, snowplows, dump trucks, etc.
• Using mechanized tools and equipment
• Using manual tools and equipment
• Moving bunk beds, furniture, or other heavy items
• Lifting and carrying materials and supplies, ladders, hoses, tools, equipment, boxes, bed frames, etc.
• Walking and standing for long periods, including walking backwards while carrying items
• Working at heights above 20 feet on occasion
