ABOUT THE ROLE
The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring employee adherence to company safety policies and procedures. This position supports projects throughout designated geographical locations.

Essential Functions- Manage ongoing safety program and work with Operations to ensure proper safety staffing.
- Verify fieldwork compliance with federal, state and local regulations, company policy, and industry best practices.
- Audit safety engineers and provide meaningful feedback and guidance.
- Coordinate cross‑training and conduct training as necessary.
- Assist management with methods to improve safety practices and procedures.
- Conduct and report on advance notice and no‑notice inspections, surveys, and evaluations.
- Receive, review, and participate in the development of accident briefs, safety‑related publications, bulletins, and reports.
- Provide technical and professional assistance to eliminate or control unsafe behavior and environmental factors.
- Provide progress reports on safety activities, safety reports, and safety studies.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform duties in a company‑designated office or field location as required.
- Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other‑specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience with OSHA record keeping, reporting, and Method of Procedure (MOP) writing.
- Experience in job hazard & safety analysis within the transmission and distribution industry.
- Experience in the field of transmission and distribution line construction.
- Management experience within a safety role.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of electric utility and construction safety programs.
- OSHA/DOT related experience.
- OSHA 10, 30, and 500 (Train the Trainer) certified.
- Microsoft Applications, technical writing, and typing skills.
- Knowledge of OSP (OSHA Strategic Partnership).
- Experience with Risk Management.
- Effective communicator.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Self‑starter and team player.
- Positive attitude.
- Safety or related technical undergraduate degree.
- Safety related credentials (e.g., OSHA 501, OTI certifications).
- Professional certifications highly preferred (e.g., CSP, CUSP, CHST).
- Salary $98,000 – $130,000 per year, paid weekly.
