Walbridge is expanding our team and looking for talented General Construction professionals to help deliver an innovative, world-class data center project. This opportunity is ideal for those with a strong background in general construction who want to take on impactful, career-defining work. We are especially interested in candidates based near Indianapolis, Indiana, who are passionate about building and strengthening their local community.
The Opportunity:
A Construction Assistant Superintendent to help lead and manage large-scale construction projects. This role covers the entire project lifecycle from feasibility to completion, including developing project strategies, plans, and budgets, and assembling qualified project teams. You will schedule, coordinate, and supervise craft employee activities, potentially supervising various trade groups across civil, structural, electrical disciplines.
Location:
You can be located anywhere in the US if you are highly willing to travel to client projects on a long-term basis.
- Project Planning and Strategy:
Plan and supervise construction activities, determine methods, manpower, materials, equipment, and schedules. Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedules. - Team Leadership:
Coordinate work with different crafts, departments, or contractors. Resolve construction problems and maintain communication with unions. - Resource Management:
Monitor safety program compliance and document corrective measures. Ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support project schedules. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, clients, and vendors, to ensure alignment and address concerns. - Performance Monitoring:
Track project progress through metrics and reporting, adjusting plans to meet changing requirements or challenges. - Quality Assurance:
Ensure deliverables meet required quality standards and compliance regulations. - Innovation and Improvement:
Seek ways to optimize processes and improve project outcomes through innovative technologies or methodologies.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, and five (5) or more years of supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, commercial or industrial projects.
- Experience on Commercial or Industrial projects with budgets of at least $15M.
- Valid US driver’s license and valid passport; willingness and ability to travel; travel estimated at 70% or more.
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
- Experience supervising, motivating, and mentoring cross-functional teams.
- Strong safety record and ability to deliver quality outcomes in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
