Overview
UAV Instructor Operator role at General Atomics. General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA-SI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a provider of military and commercial engineering services in the aerospace sector.
Location:
Dugway, UT. This position involves aircrew training, evaluations, and sustained flight operations as part of GA-SI Aero Services.
- Act as an Instructor Operator for General Atomics PBL US Army field support. Support customer organizational units in aircrew training, evaluations, and sustained flight operations.
- Coordinate and participate in ground and flight operations, including mission planning, execution and briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management, and safety.
- Remotely pilot vehicles to verify specification compliance and operational suitability during flight test/demonstration support through prescribed tests and maneuvers (as required).
- Ensure compliance with service guidance, company policies and procedures, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
- Develop and verify procedures for new aircraft features and contribute to the development of operational and safety procedures and training syllabus/courseware.
- Observe all laws, regulations, and obligations in business conduct; maintain safe work practices in accordance with operating procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications- Typically requires education/formal training equivalent to a four-year technical degree or trade school equivalency and nine or more years in UAV operation or aviation. Equivalent professional or military experience in UAV or aviation may be substituted for education.
- Familiarity with Army forms, records, and publications as well as Contractor Flight and Ground Operations procedures and records (DCMA 8210).
- Extensive understanding of UAV and FAA principles, theories and concepts.
- Graduate of DA or DES IO Course for MQ-1C Gray Eagle.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to interface with all levels of employees and military and civilian customers, contractors and aircrew.
- Detailed knowledge of computer operations and applications.
- Ability to maintain an FAA Class II flight physical.
- Ability to work independently and in a team; willing to work extended hours and travel as required.
Must also possess:
- At least 1,000 hours in an OSGCS/UGCS, with 400 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
- Graduate of DA or DES IO course.
- A Test and Evaluation (T&E) qualification.
