The Press Assistant plays a critical role on the production floor, working side-by-side with the Press Operator to keep jobs moving efficiently, safely, and with high quality. This position is hands-on and fast-paced, focused on preparing materials, managing inks, and ensuring every job is set up for success-both now and next.

What You'll Do

Working under the direction of the Press Operator, you will:

• Read and interpret Run Condition Reports to understand job requirements
• Stage and prepare inks, materials, sleeves, anilox rolls, doctor blade chambers, and job documentation
• Set up and organize materials for upcoming runs to minimize downtime
• Communicate actively with the Press Operator during setups and job changes
• Load and unload materials from the press safely and efficiently
• Monitor and maintain ink viscosity to meet quality standards
• Keep ink systems, pumps, and surrounding areas clean and organized
• Clean, store, and protect sleeves, plates, and anilox rolls after use
• Track and report setup waste accurately
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining the press and surrounding work area
• Report mechanical issues or concerns promptly to the Operator
• Maintain consistent, reliable attendance
