Position Summary
Assistant Service Managers are responsible for the performance of the service department areas as assigned by the Service Manager at their One Water store. They are passionate about delighting customers and achieving or exceeding their volume, productivity and profit goals through effective management of the service team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Supports Service Manager in scheduling service work and processes retail, warranty, and internal repair orders efficiently.
- Trains technicians to execute successful service processes, ensuring an excellent customer experience.
- Assists in the execution of boat shows, store, and off‑site sales/customer events.
- Monitors paperwork processes for timeliness and daily technician bill time.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and environmentally friendly service operation.
- Ensures quality control standards meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Demonstrates timely, high‑quality completion of service repair orders as needed.
- Successfully resolves customer complaints and problems in a timely manner.
- Promotes teamwork and supports other team members, departments, and locations to ensure a seamless experience through sale, financing, delivery, and subsequent servicing of the boat.
- Excellent communication skills with customers and industry partners verbally and electronically.
- Technician efficiency and productivity.
- At least 2 years of experience in the boating industry.
- Has a continuous learning mindset; develops and maintains a high level of service knowledge.
- Achieves or exceeds revenue and profit goals.
- Exhibits a positive and energetic appearance in the work environment that contributes to Sales and Service team members’ objectives.
This position requires remaining in a stationary position, standing or sitting for prolonged periods; repeating wrist, hand, or finger motions; moving between work sites; operating a motor vehicle; communicating with others; assessing accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work; hearing, talking, seeing; and coordinating eye, hand, and foot actions.
Work EnvironmentThe work is conducted in an indoor office environment with controlled temperatures. There are no adverse environmental conditions expected. Physical demands include light to medium effort, moving objects up to 50 pounds.
