Contracts Administrator
Specter Aerospace is seeking an Contract Administrator who will support the full lifecycle of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal contracts. This role ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, manages contract documentation and workflows, and provides operational support to internal teams engaged in federal procurement activities. The ideal candidate has strong familiarity with FAR/DFARS, a high attention to detail, and experience navigating R&D and production government contract requirements.

Specter Aerospace is building the next generation of hypersonic vehicles for U.S. Forces and Allies. Specter is headquartered just north of Boston in Peabody, MA where it leverages its advanced propulsion technologies, manufacturing, and testing capabilities to rapidly develop supersonic and hypersonic systems. Funded by a mix of government R&D organizations and private funding, Specter is expanding its team in preparation for flight testing and full-scale production.

Role

& Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain contract files for DoD and other federal contracts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support contract lifecycle activities including proposal preparation, negotiation support, award administration, modifications, and closeout.
  • Review and interpret contract terms, clauses, and regulatory requirements under FAR, DFARS, and related DoD guidelines.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure contract deliverables and obligations are met.
  • Process NDAs, subcontract agreements, purchase orders, change orders, and other contracting documents.
  • Monitor contract performance, funding, and deliverables; identify risks or issues and escalated as needed.
  • Support audits, reporting requirements, and internal compliance activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal procurement policies, DoD acquisition processes, and relevant regulatory changes.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, contract management, legal studies, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in federal contracting, with a focus on DoD contracts.
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other federal procurement regulations.
  • Experience with government contract administration, including award, modification, and closeout processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional tea
  • Proficiency with contract management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with cost-type, fixed-price, and IDIQ contracts.
  • Familiarity with government portals such as PIEE, SAM.gov , and eSRS.
  • Certification such as CFCM, CCCM, or DAWIA (any level).
