PART-TIME TECHNICAL VENUE STAFF

Olio is an historic event space for weddings, parties, corporate events, galas, and more. We are a small family business located in downtown Peabody, Massachusetts. Olio is hiring for our new Technical Venue Staff role. This team member will provide technical production support to special events on a part-time basis, with flexibility to work around the staff member’s preferred schedule and during event set‑up windows. Olio is seeking skilled individuals with hands‑on experience in event or theatrical production. This is a great job for someone with weekend availability, and perfect for a student or other professional seeking part‑time hours.

Duties include staffing rental pick‑ups/drop‑offs, installing upsell add‑ons such as string lights or drapery, and light cleaning tasks, with the potential for additional duties as the venue continues to grow.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Be available to work before or after events (i.e. early morning or late night) on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Periodic weekday availability is required.
  • Be able to regularly lift 50 pounds and spend several hours standing.
  • Be comfortable working on Olio’s straight and extension ladders, up to 15 feet.
  • Be comfortable working with hand and power tools (all provided by Olio).
  • Have a very strong commitment to punctuality and sense of responsibility.
  • Have a friendly demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
  • Be able to problem solve and think on your feet independently.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and a High School diploma or equivalent.
WORK SCHEDULE

The schedule for this role is currently extremely flexible around event bookings, with most of the work occurring Friday through Sunday. Shifts are scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance and are done so around the availability of the Technical Venue Staff with 2-4 shifts per month available. Work is year‑round, although busier in the summer and fall event season. There is immediate availability.

COMPENSATION

Pay starts at $20/hour, and there is a potential for a pay increase depending on experience (non‑exempt, hourly, tax liability: 1099).
