We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Physician Assistant to join our General Orthopedics team at our practices located at 100 Cummings Center, Suite 136P in Beverly, MA and 4 Centennial Drive, Peabody, MA. This role is heavily outpatient and clinic based. The PA will work in a highly collaborative environment with strong physician support. We are open to highly driven, entry-level talent for this role as well as highly seasoned providers.

Schedule & Setting

* Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

* 40 hours/week (36 clinical / 4 administrative)

* Outpatient clinic setting

* No inpatient rounding required

* Call responsibility: 1 in 9 scheduling with opportunity to swamp with peers

Clinical Responsibilities

* Provide outpatient orthopedic care across subspecialties as needed

* Evaluate and manage approximately 16 patients per day, including new patients, post-operative follow-ups, and established visits

* Perform in-office procedures including joint injections and reductions using local anesthesia

* Participate in surgical assist days, depending on assigned subspecialty

* Work within a developing pod model, pairing two PAs per surgeon to enhance continuity and support

Job Summary

The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.

* Performs complete histories and physical examinations.

* Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.

* Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.

* Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.

* Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.

* Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
