Cafeteria Monitor (Part-time 15 hours per week/no benefits)
Starting Date: Immediately
Salary: $18.00 per Hour (AFSCME Union)
Location: School District
Hours: Three (3) hours per day (Hours arranged by the Principal)
General Duties:
To supervise students, support the Food Services operation in the cafeteria during lunch periods, and other related tasks.
- Monitor and assist students during meal periods and follow school protocols when needed.
- Clean cafeteria tables between lunch periods.
- Check daily and assist students that have restrictions for dietary or physical needs.
- Encourage appropriate behavior and interactions; refer students to the administrator on duty.
- Understand and adhere to all district policies and procedures.
- Ensure the safety of students in the cafeteria.
- Apply proper sanitation and safety requirements associated with food operations.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Establish and maintain professional work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
- Attend in-service training and workshops when required.
- Perform other functions as needed.
- Must pass Massachusetts criminal background check.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship.
- Prior experience in a school environment with an understanding of student behavior.
- Fluent (listening, speaking, reading and writing) in both English and Spanish or Portuguese preferred.
