Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by utilizing your skills as a Sign Language Interpreter in a vibrant educational setting near Peabody, MA. This full-time, contract opportunity offers immediate start and extends across a 5-week summer ESY program, with the potential for continued work into the following school year.

As an interpreter, you'll support a dedicated student who works closely with a Teacher of the Deaf (TOD), utilizes an FM system, and cochlear implants. Your expertise will foster a positive, inclusive environment that empowers growth, communication, and academic progress.

Qualifications:
  • Current certification in sign language interpreting or relevant credential
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Prior experience interpreting in school settings preferred
  • Familiarity working with students using cochlear implants and FM systems is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Flexible, reliable, and passionate about educational access
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation for students, staff, and peers throughout the school day
  • Facilitate communication in both classroom and school wide activities
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to support the student's individualized needs
  • Support the student's understanding and participation in curriculum content and social interactions
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical interpreting standards and school protocols
