Job DescriptionPOSITION: Library Tutor - 19.5 hours per week
REPORTS TO
:
Building Principal
SALARY:$20.00 per hour
HOURS: 19.5 hours per week, until the end of this school year
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in education (minimum)
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative problem solving skills.
- Successful prior experience working with general education students.
- Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning and the ability to apply these practices.
- Ability to plan student lessons and work independently with individuals and groups.
- Commitment to the District’s goals & school improvement plan goals.
- Bilingualism is a highly desired skill for a position, but not a requirement
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Using prepared lesson plans, instruct at-risk individuals or small groups of students within the regular classroom and occasionally other settings.
- Facilitate the instructional programs of all assigned students under the supervision of the classroom teacher, Title I Director and Building Principal.
- Document student performance and progress in collaboration with the classroom teachers and/or the student’s individual program requirements.
- Plan appropriate instructional activities and administer assessments in collaboration with classroom teachers.
- Meet regularly with other staff members and classroom teachers to coordinate interdisciplinary programs and activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
