The IT Support Intern assists the Information Technology department with daily operational and technical support activities while gaining practical experience in enterprise IT operations. Working under the guidance of experienced IT professionals, the intern provides basic end-user support, prepares and deploys computing equipment, assists with IT asset management, supports infrastructure organization projects, and performs entry-level technical and administrative tasks. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in enterprise IT support, infrastructure operations, customer service, cybersecurity awareness, documentation, and technology lifecycle management while developing foundational technical and professional skills.
The primary purpose of this internship is to support the daily operations of the Information Technology department while providing the intern with practical experience in enterprise IT. The intern will assist with routine support activities, equipment preparation, asset management, documentation, and infrastructure organization under the supervision of experienced IT personnel.

Decision-Making Authority
The IT Support Intern performs assigned work under the direction of experienced IT personnel. The intern will not independently:
Perform production server administration. Configure or modify production network infrastructure. Administer privileged user accounts. Implement production system changes. Modify cybersecurity controls. Approve technology purchases. Perform high-risk technical activities without authorization and supervision.
Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed an Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, technical certificate, or comparable training in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and common desktop software. Familiarity with fundamental networking concepts is desirable. Strong customer service and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow documented procedures and technical instructions.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while seeking guidance when appropriate. Ability to safely handle and move typical computer equipment and peripherals, with assistance when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of introductory coursework in information technology or computer science. Previous customer service, technical support, or computer repair experience. Experience assembling, upgrading, or troubleshooting personal computers. Familiarity with printers, peripherals, and endpoint devices. Basic understanding of networking concepts, structured cabling, and wireless connectivity. Experience using standard office productivity applications. Entry-level technical certifications such as CompTIA Tech+, CompTIA A+, or comparable foundational certifications are desirable but not required.

Work Environment
Primarily office-based with regular work in technical work spaces, equipment rooms, and network closets. Occasional lifting and movement of computer equipment and peripherals may be required. Standing, bending, and working under desks or around equipment may occasionally be necessary. Travel between company locations may occasionally be required.
