Quality Control Inspector

Today, Vortex LLC operates in a 60,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility located in Peabody, MA. We are growing and looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team. If you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and take pride in precision, this role is for you.

• Perform first article (FAI), in-process, and final inspections
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
• Use precision measuring instruments including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators
• Document inspection results and maintain quality records
• Identify nonconformances and support corrective actions
• Work closely with production, engineering, and management to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery
• Support ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives
• Propose, develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures and review with the product quality engineers
• Support the calibration process
• Support internal and external audits on processes and procedures

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
• Experience with Calibrated equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMM etc.)
• Strong understanding of tolerances and measurement techniques
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings (wire diagrams, work instructions, CAD)
• Experience with inspection of machined parts and mechanical assemblies
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication or machining environment a plus
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as JobBoss2 is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
• Experience with communicating with suppliers and cross functional teams
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment preferred
