Job Description & How to Apply Below

Our client is looking for a Mechanical Inspector. Our client builds and supports precision manufacturing operations where quality and accuracy are non‑negotiable. In this Mechanical Inspector role, you’ll help ensure every machined component meets engineering drawings, specifications, and internal quality standards before it moves to the next production step. You’ll perform 1st piece, in-process, and final inspection, document results clearly, and support quality initiatives by resolving discrepancies with the right teams.

You’ll rely on GD&T, strong blueprint/spec interpretation, and hands‑on measurement with precision tools in a machine shop environment.

Responsibilities

You’ll inspect machined parts using tools like micrometers, calipers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, profilometers, comparators, height gages, pin gages, plug/thread gages, and radius gages, then complete accurate inspection reports to verify compliance. You’ll also review inspection and testing results to ensure only acceptable product advances through the process, while maintaining a safe and organized work area.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a machine shop environment as a Mechanical Inspector or quality inspection role.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to obtain required part information.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and geometric dimensioning/tolerancing inspection practices.
  • Hands‑on proficiency with precision inspection instruments (micrometers, calipers, vernier calipers, dial indicator, profilometer, comparator, height gage, pin gages, plug/thread gages, radius gages).
  • Experience performing 1st piece, in-process, and final inspections and documenting results in inspection reports.
  • Ability to verify inspection/testing compliance against drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to resolve discrepancies.
