Our innovative client is scaling rapidly and seeking a proactive Supplier Quality Engineer to architect and own their end-to-end supplier quality ecosystem. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between internal engineering and a global supply base—championing robust quality standards, remote technical investigations, and systemic manufacturing excellence without needing to be on the factory floor.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Remote & Hands‑On Investigations: Own end-to-end root‑cause analysis for supplied components, assembly issues, and field failures, leveraging deep technical evidence and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Architect Quality Systems: Build and scale practical, repeatable frameworks for nonconforming materials, corrective actions (CAPA), supplier qualification, calibration, and quality metrics from the ground up.
- Manage Global Supplier Performance: Partner with domestic and international partners (especially in China) to drive rigorous containment, first‑article inspections (FAI), and verified corrective closures.
- Drive Inspection Strategies: Design risk‑based incoming and in‑process inspection methodologies, translating complex or subjective engineering requirements into clear, repeatable acceptance criteria.
- Correlate Field Data to Production: Establish structured feedback loops for warranty, return, and repair data to preemptively spot failure trends and collaborate …
- Mentor and Communicate: Train internal technicians on defect recognition and present high‑impact risk trends …
- Experience: 6+ years in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or related technical engineering fields.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Quality Engineering (or equivalent experience in a technical discipline).
- Global Supply Chain Expertise: Proven track record managing and troubleshooting‑quality remotely with international suppliers specific to China.
- Technical Acumen: Fluency in engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensional tolerances, and hands‑on component inspection.
- Manufacturing Process Literacy: Direct working knowledge of mechanically assembled products, CNC machining, injection molding, bearings, springs, or sheet metal fabrication.
- Mindset & Adaptability: Comfortable operating amidst ambiguity in an evolving startup or scale‑up environment, possessing the strategic judgment to implement clean quality structures.
