OVERVIEW

The Specialty Beauty Advisor – Wellness (SBA – Wellness) is responsible for maximizing sales in the wellness category by engaging guests to determine their individual needs, assisting guests in the selection and purchase of merchandise, and maintaining overall store standards, including cleanliness and replenishment. The advisor represents the culture of Ulta Beauty to the guest and supports the Experience Manager through a focus on performance, people, and process.

PRINCIPAL

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance

  • Meet or exceed the wellness category sales and support store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni‑channel, and shrink.
  • Ensure exceptional service by greeting, engaging, personalizing, offering samples, and recommending complementary products and services.
  • Perform product demonstrations across the wellness category.
  • Book appointments and support services and events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while driving sales.
  • Inform guests of current promotions, events, and services.
  • Stay knowledgeable of new products and services, including ingredients and benefits.
  • Serve as the wellness subject matter expert for store associates.
  • Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

People

  • Contribute to an inclusive environment supporting teammates, peers, and guests.
  • Share benefits of the guest loyalty program on the sales floor.
  • Maintain relationships with wellness brand partners through training and events.
  • Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enable continuous professional development.

Process

  • Be knowledgeable of and ensure adherence to Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Drive sales by keeping the assigned work area replenished, signed, and faced, and ensuring testers are available and compliant with hygiene standards.
  • Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of all assigned areas.
  • Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing for the wellness category.
  • Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices.
  • Execute other operational tasks as directed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Cosmetology or demonstrator license where required by state law.
Experience
  • Sales experience preferred.
Skills
  • Significant competency in sales, products, and service, preferably wellness products.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive and proactive handling of guest concerns and prioritization of tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekdays, and holidays.
  • Attend brand‑sponsored trainings.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Frequent mobility during shift.
  • Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting.
  • Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs.
  • Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $30.00 / Hour. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by applicable law. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
