Duties and Responsibilities- Perform electrical, mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs on surface facilities including the preparation plant and surface equipment including electric dragline, where applicable.
- Maintain electrical equipment in permissible condition as defined by MSHA.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, and complete reports and records as required.
- Perform other, non-maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Furnish own hand tools and truck, where applicable.
- Travel to other work locations as directed.
- Demonstrate by example the compliance of all Company, State and Federal policies, procedures (including PPE), plans, laws and regulations
- On call for emergency work twenty-four hours per day.
- Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends and holidays at all Wild Boar Complex locations.
- Knowledge of State and Federal mining regulations pertaining to coal mining surface facilities and equipment including electrical permissibility as well as NEC standards is preferred.
- Must be able to electrical troubleshoot from blueprints and service manuals and perform the required repair.
- Welding and cutting fabrication experience is desired.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Must be self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to communicate and coordinate with coworkers and supervisors.
- Must have high safety standards for self and others.
- Must comply with Company, State, and Federal regulations, plans and policies.
- Current MSHA electrical certification (High, medium, and low voltage, surface) is preferred. (Must obtain certification within 12 months if not presently held.)
- Two or more years’ experience repairing and troubleshooting skills on preparation plant and surface mining equipment including power distribution equipment, motors, motor controls, instrumentation, etc. is preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing PLC Systems is required where applicable.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electric dragline is required where applicable.
- Must possess high school diploma or GED.
- Must have the ability to stand for 4 to 8 hours on uneven surfaces.
- Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles.
- Must have the ability to work from elevated positions, walk or climb up and down stairways and ladders and climb off and on equipment.
- Must have the ability to lift 25 to 70 pounds without mechanical assistance.
- Must have the ability to don and wear required safety equipment including respirators, hearing and eye protection, and protective clothing.
- Must have the ability to work in damp, dimly lit, and confined work areas.
- Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms and legs and good hand to eye coordination.
