Compensation: $30.00 - $40.00/hour

Company Overview:

Tiello is partnered with a nationally recognized Fire Protection contractor in their search for a Fire Alarm Service Inspector to support commercial, industrial, and residential service operations throughout the Greater Boston/North Shore market. With more than 100 years of experience in the Fire & Life Safety industry, this organization specializes in fire alarm, fire suppression, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair services while remaining committed to protecting lives and property through exceptional customer service and technical expertise.

Role

Summary:

The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of experience servicing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining commercial fire alarm and life safety systems. This individual will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, identifying system deficiencies, troubleshooting equipment, educating customers, and ensuring all work is completed in compliance with NFPA codes and company safety standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, preventative maintenance, and service on commercial fire alarm and suppression systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system deficiencies while recommending corrective actions.
  • Verify proper operation of fire alarm and suppression equipment to ensure code compliance.
  • Educate customers on system operation, functionality, and emergency response procedures.
  • Manage daily service schedules while maintaining productivity and high-quality workmanship.
  • Complete inspection reports, service documentation, and all required job-related paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all work complies with NFPA standards, local codes, and AHJ requirements.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, lifts, and testing equipment in proper working condition.
  • Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices while working in commercial and industrial environments.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating professionally with customers, contractors, and inspectors.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3+ years of experience servicing or inspecting commercial fire alarm systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial fire alarm and suppression systems.
  • Understanding of NFPA codes and Fire & Life Safety industry standards.
  • NICET Level I Certification or higher is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple service calls.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in commercial, industrial, and outdoor environments.
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and using ladders, lifts, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
