Responsibilities
The Registered Land Surveyor independently leads and delivers complex geomatics and land surveying projects supporting a wide range of infrastructure, development, and design initiatives. Based in Barge Design Solutions’ Gwinnett office, this role partners closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Architects, Landscape Architects, and other technical professionals to provide expert surveying guidance, innovative problem‑solving, and high‑quality project execution.
- Coordinate with various discipline leads on scheduling objectives and project milestones for large‑scale geomatics and surveying projects.
- Approve a subset of more complex deliverables and surveys by analyzing reports, programming, client requirements, and other relevant information.
- Sign and seal surveys, maps, and survey‑related documents.
- Perform in‑process quality review of survey field activities, legal descriptions, maps, area photographs, calculations, and other diverse types of project deliverables.
- Perform complex calculations.
- Act as project‑specific lead for technical survey/geomatics work of others.
- Prepare computations and cost estimates using various software packages to validate findings; utilize GIS software to collect data, attribute features, and produce maps.
- Anticipate roadblocks and provide recommendations for resolution to ensure strong accuracy of survey work.
- Communicate with clients pertaining to specific projects and attend client meetings.
- Coordinate deliverables between clients, teaming partners, and other disciplines working on a project.
- Participate as needed in project proposals.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 4–8 years of geomatics, surveying, or other relevant experience.
- 10 years of relevant experience may count in lieu of a degree.
- Registered professional surveying licensure (varies by state).
