Ready to turn your ambition into achievement? Join Pond & Company and be part of the team that’s redefining the future of Architectural, Engineering, Planning, Construction Management, and Environmental projects!
About the RolePond is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle delivery of major transmission pipeline projects—from early feasibility and routing through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and operational handoff. This is a high-visibility, client‑facing leadership role at the center of some of the most complex and consequential energy infrastructure work in the industry.
You will serve as the primary point of accountability for safety, scope, schedule, budget, quality, and regulatory compliance—coordinating multidisciplinary internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies across project types including natural gas, crude oil, refined products, CO2, and hydrogen transmission systems.
What You’ll Do- Own major transmission pipeline projects end‑to‑end: feasibility, routing, permitting, FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Develop and drive project execution strategies, staffing plans, master schedules, and budgets with a relentless focus on delivery.
- Integrate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams spanning civil, mechanical, pipeline, electrical, I&C, environmental, and structural disciplines.
- Serve as the primary client interface, building trust through consistent communication, proactive issue resolution, and demonstrated results.
- Enforce project governance, quality management systems, and scope/change control discipline throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee development and review of pipeline routing and alignment studies, hydraulic modeling, material specifications, stress analysis, station facility designs, and IFC drawing packages.
- Coordinate technical reviews, constructability assessments, HAZOPs, and interdisciplinary design reviews.
- Guide engineering decisions on HDD and major crossings, geohazard mitigation, corrosion control and CP systems, SCADA and leak detection, and integrity management requirements.
- Coordinate environmental studies, permitting, and regulatory approvals across PHMSA, FERC, ASME B31.4/B31.8, API standards, and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Manage agency coordination, stakeholder engagement, public meetings, landowner coordination, and environmental mitigation planning.
- Lead procurement activities for long‑lead materials and equipment; evaluate vendor proposals and technical bids.
- Drive construction execution through construction management coordination, field engineering support, change management, RFI resolution, and QA/QC oversight.
- Manage hydrotesting, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities; ensure complete as‑built and turnover documentation.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and performance metrics; monitor earned value, change orders, cost tracking, and resource planning.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively; elevate issues before they become problems.
- Prepare executive‑level status reports and client presentations that communicate clearly and inspire confidence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience managing major transmission pipeline or linear infrastructure projects.
- Deep understanding of transmission pipeline design, permitting, construction, and operations.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams on complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.
- Working knowledge of ASME B31.4/B31.8, API standards, and PHMSA regulations.
- Experience across EPC, EPCM, and Owner’s Engineer delivery models.
