Summary:

The Wellness Director ensures delivery of quality assisted living services focused on maximizing residents’ individual capabilities, implements and monitors effective Assisted Living systems; ensures clinical/health services are in compliance with community standards and State regulations, serves as a clinical resource for Community staff, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Galerie Management standards.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Ensures quality resident care is consistently delivered in accordance with all local, state and federal guidelines

Collaborates and partners with physicians, pharmacy and other medical professionals to promote quality care and independence for our residents

Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and leading all nursing associates including, but not limited to Memory Care Director, Resident Care Coordinator, CMAs, and Resident Assistants.

Conducts comprehensive resident pre-admission, admission and quarterly assessments in accordance with Galerie Management policy and procedures.

Provide on-call support for the community

Ensures compliance, efficiency and team’s understanding of policies and procedures

Maintains the standards of care practice within the community.

Assess and monitor residents' health care needs through appropriate actions, training, consultation, and delegation

Ensures compliance with all Galerie Management policies and procedures that govern clinical services.

Order and maintain inventory of health-related supplies and equipment for residents.

Responsible for staff performance, staff recruitment, staff retention, and staff development.

Responsible for collaborating with other departments to ensure quality resident care and staff development.

Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a budget process for staffing and clinical services.

Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of the community.

Serves as spokesperson for caregiving matters and represents the community with a professional demeanor.

Participates in appropriate meetings and committees.

Meets with families as requested.

Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPAA and state and federal regulatory training as required.

Education and Experience:

Maintain a current active Registered Nurse (RN) license OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License. A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and a minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be knowledgeable of nursing administration practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing administration functions in an assisted living community.

Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the resident care department.

Working Conditions:

Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, or vendors

Occasional weekend, evening, or night work if needed to ensure shift coverage

On-call on an as needed basis
100% time spent on site in community setting
