About the Business Development Americas TeamThe Business Development Americas (AC) team is part of our Business Development (BD) department, which is accountable for overall sales achievements worldwide and leads business development, contract management and client relationship management. The team consists of two Business Developers in the United States, two in Brazil and a Regional Office Manager. They closely collaborate with Operations, Innovations, regional project teams and Staff departments in the Netherlands.
The team focuses on expanding its market presence and revenue through strategic customer development, strong teamwork, and new opportunities across the Americas.
As Area Manager Business Development AC, you'll lead the commercial efforts across North, Central and South America, from generating leads and negotiating contracts through contract execution and payment collection. You'll develop the regional BD strategy, manage the sales funnel and budget, and coach your team in commercial and technical areas as well as CRM administration. You'll also play a hands on role in opening new markets and strengthening client relationships, while ensuring close collaboration with Operations and Staff departments.
While based in Houston, you will remotely manage our three Americas offices and report directly to the Business Development Director in the Netherlands.
- Lead and coach the Business Development team across the Americas, focusing on commercial growth and personal development.
- Drive new business opportunities and contribute directly to revenue and pipeline expansion.
- Develop and implement the Business Development strategy within your region, and translate it into clear, actionable steps to enable your team to be successful.
- Facilitate strong collaboration across our regional Business Development teams and departments such as Operations, Finance and Legal to streamline collaboration and enhance effectiveness.
- Monitor key performance indicators including revenue growth, opportunity pipeline, new customer acquisition, and team development, by using tools like CRM and applying a data-driven approach.
- BSc/MSc degree in technical studies with solid experience in a relevant industry (Offshore, Maritime, Oil & Gas).
- 10 + years of professional experience, including 5+ years in leading teams within commercial, technical, or project management roles.
- Proven track record in business development, customer relationship management, and contracting and negotiating complex commercial deals.
- Strong understanding of commercial and financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, margin management, and Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability.
- Excellent communications skills in English, both verbally and written. Spanish or Portuguese are a plus.
- Willingness to travel extensively across regions.

- Yearly gross salary between USD 122.596 - USD 175.136 based on your experience.
