** Principal Scientist
** with deep expertise in immunoassays, transfusion diagnostics, and assay/reagent development. This role serves as a scientific leader responsible for driving innovation, supporting new product development, and providing advanced technical expertise across cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate is an emerging authority in one or more scientific disciplines related to immunoassays, blood banking, molecular typing, and diagnostic product development. This position requires strong scientific leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to solve complex technical challenges with minimal direction.

** Approximately 10% as needed for conferences, meetings, and business support activities
** Salary:** $120k-$135k
** Key Responsibilities*
* + Apply advanced scientific methods and experimental design principles to solve complex technical and product development challenges.
+ Lead scientific investigations related to immunoassays, reagent development, transfusion diagnostics, and assay optimization.
+ Define mid- to long-term scientific objectives and implement strategic plans to achieve project goals.
+ Provide technical leadership and guidance to scientists and cross-functional project teams.
+ Support new product development initiatives and released product support activities.
+ Maintain accurate, detailed, and compliant scientific documentation.
+ Prepare technical reports, summaries, presentations, abstracts, and scientific publications as needed.
+ Stay current with scientific literature, emerging technologies, competitive products, and industry trends.
+ Define project scope, identify critical milestones, and recommend technical approaches.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, regulatory, clinical, quality, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
+ Represent the organization in technical discussions with external partners, conferences, and industry organizations.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
** Qualifications*
* ** Required Education & Experience*
* + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Immunohematology, or a related scientific field.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in a transfusion service, blood center, or related diagnostics environment.
+ Industry experience in diagnostic or IVD product development preferred.
+ Strong expertise in:
+ Blood group serology
+ Molecular typing (PCR and NGS)
+ Antibody identification
+ Transfusion protocols
+ Experience supporting diagnostic product development, clinical studies, or innovation programs.
** Preferred Qualifications*
* + ASCP SBB (Specialist in Blood Banking) certification preferred.
+
Experience with blood bank automation systems.
+ Familiarity with IVD product lifecycle management and regulatory pathways.

+ Ability to translate clinical and laboratory needs into actionable product insights.
