Our PS-12 school is situated on a 208-acre campus, with collegiate-like facilities conveniently located just north of Interstate 287 and Route 206 in Gladstone, NJ. We are easily accessible from Morristown, Summit, and Bridgewater.

Gill St. Bernard’s School is searching for a dynamic and experienced full time Middle School Spanish teacher for the  school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, experienced with curriculum development, committed to student-centered pedagogy, and eager to collaborate with colleagues. The successful candidate will be patient, encouraging, and flexible with students, and will model GSB’s core values of compassion, excellence, integrity, respect, and courage.

The Middle School World Language department seeks candidates with native or near-native proficiency.

• Teach four (4) sections of Spanish for grades 5 – 8.
• Provide academic support for students outside of class time as needed (during conference time, before or after school).
• Collaborate with members of the Middle School World Language department to align pedagogy, pacing, and instructional practice.
• Submit grades and academic narrative comments three times a year.
• Serve as an advisor to 8-10 students (provide academic and emotional support, communicate regularly with parents/guardians, host in-person conferences twice a year).
• Engage in the co-curricular life of the Middle School by overseeing a student club/service-related organization or by coaching a team.
• Serve on a grade-level team to develop an experiential Spring Unit course.
• Participate in divisional, departmental, and grade-level meetings.
• Perform additional duties (lunch duty, substitute teaching for colleagues, afternoon carline, break duty) as assigned by the Division Director.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 3+ years of experience of teaching at the Middle School level; a keen interest in the development of learners in this age group
• Experience instructing a diverse student population
• Demonstrated understanding of cultural competency and full commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion work
• Enthusiasm for and effective use of technology in the classroom
• Desire for ongoing professional growth and membership in a community of learners
• Ability to work with students in-person or virtually, as determined by the School.

Compensation range: $55,000 - $75,000. Further consideration may be given to candidates with significant experience, education, or certifications.
