Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Founded in 1951, it provides integrated, personalized care, education, therapeutic intervention, and pre‑vocational skill development. The program includes licensed group homes, adult learning centers, and an arts access program.

• Conduct accurate and thorough examinations in hospital or educational settings.
• Identify PT diagnosis and prognosis to direct appropriate plan of care.
• Implement effective procedural (direct) interventions based on assessment results.
• Coordinate, communicate, and document to support client/student functional outcomes.
• Provide instruction to support functional outcomes and program needs.
• Provide consultative services regarding environmental and service provision issues.
• Participate in educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills of others.
• Perform transdisciplinary roles to optimize client/student carryover of functional outcomes.
• Participate in department duties and responsibilities necessary for effective service delivery.
• Participate in training and studies to enhance knowledge in pediatrics and developmental disabilities.

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university.

Minimum of 3 years clinical experience.

New Jersey Physical Therapy License required.

Salary range: $79,059 – $95,762 annually.
