Position OverviewMatheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities, committed to providing exceptional care and an optimal quality of life. This full‑time Registered Nurse position serves a 7am‑7pm shift and is part of a unit‑based model of care with a nurse manager overseeing each residential unit. Nurses coordinate individual patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and maintain close contact with families.

Qualified candidates will receive a total signing bonus of $10,000.00: $5,000.00 after 6 months of continuous employment and the remaining $5,000.00 after 12 months of continuous employment.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments by collecting and analyzing data, interviewing, observing, and examining patients, and reviewing the medical record.
- Use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients served.
- Develop individualized plans of care, monitor patient outcomes, and revise plans as needed.
- Employ critical thinking to determine appropriate interventions and decide when to collaborate with physicians or other clinicians.
- Supervise PCA staff and unlicensed assistive personnel who provide direct patient care for ADLs, bathing, nutrition, etc.
- Ensure proper infection‑control practices in the work environment.
- Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team that includes therapies, social services, physicians, psychology, clinical nutrition, and direct support professionals.
- Communicate regularly with families or guardians on all patient‑related issues.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required during emergencies or staff shortages, including additional weekend and/or holiday time.

Hourly wage: $44.50 – $48.75 per hour. For full‑time employees, a competitive salary is offered along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, tax‑deferred retirement plan, and generous paid time off.
Position Requirements- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university (required).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university (preferred).
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse by the State of New Jersey Board of Nursing (required).
- Current CPR certification (required).
- ACLS and/or PALS certification (preferred).
- IV certification (preferred).
