Family Medicine Physician – Hawaii Responsibilities

• Serve as the Primary Care Optimization (PCO) team leader, providing comprehensive outpatient care to beneficiaries ranging from newborn to geriatric age presenting with complex and interdependent acute and chronic conditions.
• Provide pre- and post-deployment health assessments as well as preventive health assessments (PHA).
• Complete administrative paperwork and assessments required of active-duty Primary Care Managers.
• Advise other physicians, non-physician providers, and nursing and para-professional staff on the care of patients with urgent, emergent, and non-urgent medical problems.
• Provide clinical and administrative leadership to the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) team.
• Serve as a member of the professional medical staff, following and modifying hospital plans and policies to meet accrediting agencies’ requirements.
• Participate in local disaster training exercises as directed by the Chief of Medical Staff or MTF Commander and respond to real-world disaster situations.
• Coordinate with local, state, and county medical emergency personnel to deliver primary care following the assigned facility’s Medical Contingency Response Plan (MCRP).
• Participate in a rotating call schedule, averaging one week every six weeks, during which the member will hold the designated call phone for Active‑Duty death notifications. Such notifications are infrequent and occur only on rare occasions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Board Certified or Board Eligible Medical Doctor with or without a U.S. residency and current U.S. work visa.
