The Work

The Voice Data Communication Engineer, Junior will provide technical direction, engineering expertise, and support across a variety of communication domains, including the planning, designing, development, installation, testing, and maintenance of large communications networks. This entry-level position will allow you to leverage foundational skills while gaining hands-on experience and professional growth within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Design & Development:
  Assist in planning, designing, and developing large-scale voice and data communications networks to meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
• Installation & Infrastructure Support:
  Participate in the installation and deployment of voice/data communication systems, ensuring adherence to organizational and industry standards.
• Testing & Troubleshooting:
  Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of communication network components to ensure reliable functionality and optimal performance.
• Maintenance:
  Support the maintenance and repair of network infrastructure, addressing and resolving issues to ensure uninterrupted operation of communication systems.
• Technical Documentation:
  Assist in preparing detailed documentation, network configurations, and system procedures to support ongoing operations and future upgrades.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with cross-functional technical teams to coordinate activities and implement communication solutions that align with business needs.
• Industry Best Practices:
  Apply engineering knowledge to meet organizational goals while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Here’s What You Need

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in voice/data communications engineering is preferred but not required for candidates with certifications and strong technical aptitude.
• Certifications:
  
  One of the following certifications is mandatory to qualify for the position:
  • BICSI Installer 1
  • Avaya Certified
  • Nortel Certified
• Top-Secret Clearance is required.
• Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

• Ability to analyze, interpret, and resolve network issues efficiently.
