Personal Financial Counselor, PFC - Honolulu

Responsibilities

• Provide full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families.
• Offer education and counseling covering financial services, including one‑on‑one counseling, consultations with commanders or other staff, briefings, presentations, and referral resources.
• Work closely with installation and military branch points of contact to ensure program scope and needs are met.
• Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinate, publicize, and provide Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering topics across the military lifecycle (arrival at first duty station, pre‑ and post‑deployment, personal and career events). Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes (web, secure chat, video, secure video teleconference) as authorized.
• Perform duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trend information.
• Participate in in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree + 4 years experience or high school diploma + 6 years experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English. Bilingual in English and Spanish if required.
• Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following credentials:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Salary Minimum: $58,440, Salary Maximum: $93,500. Adjusted based on individual skills, experience and education. Eligible for short‑term incentives and comprehensive benefits package.
