Business Solutions Architect – Oahu

Location:

Honolulu, Hawaii.

Hiring Range: $120,600 – $156,700.

Job Summary

Design, lead, and implement SAPERP/EAM solutions that align with business objectives across Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain, and Work Management. Manage configuration, enhancements, integration, and data exchange with other systems while ensuring audit and compliance standards such as SOX. Provide functional and technical expertise across ERP/EAM modules and support enterprise‑wide process standardization.

Responsibilities
  • Solo or team‑lead design of ERP/EAM solutions to address business needs and improve processes.
  • Estimate costs and effort to implement solutions and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Provide functional and technical knowledge for all ERP/EAM modules, including SAP cloud solutions.
  • Oversee networked business processes, data exchange, and integration plans across internal and external systems.
  • Coordinate and communicate corporate‑wide ERP/EAM implementation activities to ensure consistency across units.
  • Serve as liaison to Corporate Audit, ensuring compliance with audit and controllership standards (e.g., SOX).
  • Facilitate cross‑functional discussions to gather requirements, propose improvements, and balance cost, risk, time, and performance.
  • Support program managers and functional teams in design, development, and testing, reviewing specifications and identifying trade‑offs.
  • Develop test scenarios and review test scripts, ensuring comprehensive test coverage during upgrades and go‑lives.
  • Draft detailed business process and technical requirements, estimate costs, and conduct peer reviews.
  • Maintain quality control of deliverables, coordinate solution efforts with integration teams, and report status, issues, and resource utilization.
  • Provide availability for scheduled and unscheduled work, including night or weekend assignments as required.
  • Participate in emergency response activities and related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge: Advanced SAPERP/EAM expertise;
    Daily Processing, business development, and Break/Fix support; project management principles (PMI or equivalent); electric utility business fundamentals; database and security concepts; SAP security administration and compliance; functional area policies and procedures; ERP/EAM software profiles, access, table structures, and development standards; forecasting and budgeting; integration with other SAP and non‑SAP systems; information technology management principles;
    Unix, client‑server, and instrument technologies.
  • Skills: Demonstrated project management on technology implementation; excellent written and oral communication; analysis and problem‑solving; strong organizational and time‑management; supervisory/leadership abilities; confidentiality and professionalism; adaptability; interpersonal and customer‑service skills; design, configuration, coding, troubleshooting, and implementation of SAP solutions; SAP product knowledge (Finance/Controlling, FERC, Consolidation, Open Text VIM, Material Management, Ariba, Plant Maintenance, Project System, EHSM, Mobility, Payroll, Benefits, Time Management, Success Factors, Fiori);

    proficiency in SAP upgrades/rebuilds, performance management, and capacity management; database design; workforce excellence in mentoring and collaboration.
  • Experience: 3–5years of SAPERP/EAM system experience; 6+years in ERP/EAM business processes and end‑user functions; 6+years in project development, implementation, and assessment of SAP‑based solutions; 6+years in security design and enforcement of segregation of duty controls; 6+years in utility industry ERP/EAM with increasing responsibilities; 7+years in programming/support (Unix, Windows, iOS, etc.); 7+years in analytical work; experience mentoring Lead Functional Administrators.
  • Must hold or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver’s license.
