This position provides overall direction and leadership in managing the Department’s IT unit. Duties and responsibilities include overseeing the department’s software, hardware, network, and information security; ensuring the availability, continuity, and security of data and IT services; and managing complex enterprise information technology solutions. The role involves supervising subordinate professionals at the Entry and/or Journey worker Band level, including planning and directing work, assigning and reviewing tasks, advising on complex problems, scheduling, providing technical guidance, staff training, and development.

Systems Analyst, Senior: Identifies complex inter/intra departmental problems, evaluates existing systems and technologies, and recommends effective solutions. Leads system integration testing, interface development, conversion activities, and interactions between systems. Works with users under general supervision and handles all complex technical aspects of systems analysis. May supervise lower level employees or resources on special projects.

Basic Education

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Excess Information Technology experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis, provided it is of comparable scope, level, and quality.

Specialized Experience

Four (4) to six (6) years of professional IT work experience in the Systems Analyst specialty area, including at least one (1) year comparable to the Journey worker Band B level.
