Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated PSG Technician/Maintenance Technician to work on the Honolulu Rail Project. The position is based in Pearl City, HI.

Hitachi Rail PSG Technician/Maintenance Technician to work on our Honolulu Rail Project. The successful candidate is encouraged to contribute ideas for continuous improvement and creativity.

• Performs routine, preventive and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication and proper maintenance on assigned PSG (Platform Screen Gates) equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations and maintenance manuals.
• Observes PSG system components and devices in operation to detect potential failures and locate causes of malfunction.
• Responds to PSG malfunctions and completes repairs as assigned. Uses electronic test equipment and other specialized tools as required.
• Completes assigned operational, equipment failure, safety, and other reports as required.
• Participates in training programs as required.
• Complies with Safety Rules, Operating Rulebook, and first-aid procedures.
• Flexibility to support shift rotation, weekends and holidays as typical of major infrastructure projects and operating transit systems.
• Work in close proximity to the third rail; may involve red tag, LOTOs and hot stick applications as required.
• Performs related duties as required.
• Ensures execution of assigned maintenance reports and inspection tasks.
• Ensures recording and documenting maintenance and diagnostic data.
• Supports substation fault diagnosis, inspection, testing, modification, maintenance, and repair.
• Maintains and produces accurate maintenance records, equipment performance, work accomplished, and other information using a computerized maintenance management system.
• Ensures corrective and preventative maintenance tasks are executed in compliance with the company safety policy and local regulations.
• Drives work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty.
• Ensures maintenance tools and equipment are calibrated and in good condition.
• Performs simple failure analysis and technical investigations.
• Performs additional job duties on unrelated systems including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic controlled systems in accordance with training and qualifications.

• 1-3 years' experience in electronic equipment maintenance.
• Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.
• Knowledge of, or ability to attain knowledge of safety rules regarding lock-out protection while working on the line and traffic protection.
• Ability to use and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers' maintenance instructions, and Operating Rulebook, to comprehend the operations and maintenance of PSG system.

Starting pay: $27.42
