Department: Med-Surg / ICU
Schedule: PRN (As Needed)
Reports To: Nurse Manager
George Regional Health System is seeking a flexible and dependable PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to support both the Med-Surg and ICU units. This role provides high-quality, patient-centered care while assisting with staffing needs across departments.
We are especially seeking PRN nurses who are available to work during the weekday schedule, particularly Wednesdays and Thursdays
, to support coverage needs.
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in Med-Surg and/or ICU settings
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as ordered
- Assist with care of higher-acuity patients in ICU as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
- Respond to changes in patient condition and emergencies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Follow all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Mississippi (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous Med-Surg and/or ICU experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred (required for ICU coverage or willingness to obtain)
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to varying patient needs
- Flexible availability, with preference for weekday coverage
