The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) Coordinator is responsible for the administration, coordination, and implementation of the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). The incumbent recruits, enrolls, assesses, and monitors eligible participants; develops Individual Employment Plans; recruits and supports host agencies; provides employment and job‑readiness services; ensures compliance with federal and state regulations; maintains program records and reporting requirements; and promotes the transition of participants into unsubsidized employment opportunities.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
While performing the duties of this position, work will occur primarily in an office environment; however, travel to host agencies, participant worksites, workforce partners, and community locations is required.
Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full‑time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel RequirementsFrequent local travel is required. Occasional out‑of‑area and overnight travel may be necessary.
RequiredEducation and Experience
Graduation from a four‑year college or university with a degree in human services, gerontology, sociology, human resources, social work, counseling, or a related field and one (1) to two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience leading workshops or presentations is preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications- Knowledge of aging programs, policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Ability to effectively plan, coordinate, administer, and assess program activities.
- Familiarity with community‑based agencies in the service area.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and program databases.
- Valid Mississippi driver’s license.
