The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for transporting company inventory safely and efficiently, inspecting and adjusting loads on trucks, and maintaining accurate reports and documentation. This position includes delivery routes within a 150-mile radius and requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and maintains a clean driving record.
This position offers a starting pay rate of $22.00 per hour
, with the opportunity to receive a $1.00 per hour pay increase upon successful completion of the 90-day probationary period.
- Operate and safely drive assigned delivery vehicles according to company policies, customer requirements, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) exceeding 26,000 pounds and pull trailers with a towed vehicle weight exceeding 10,000 pounds.
- Ensure all materials are properly secured to prevent damage during transport.
- Safely and efficiently unload materials at customer locations.
- Obtain customer signatures and complete all required delivery documentation.
- Verify shipment contents against delivery manifests and shipping documents.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance concerns.
- Maintain vehicles by monitoring fuel levels, tire pressure, and general operating condition.
- Notify management of any major maintenance issues, accidents, delays, or delivery concerns.
- Maintain accurate electronic driving logs and delivery records.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of and compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Inspect and adjust loads as necessary to ensure safe transportation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service while representing the company.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Class A CDL required
- Minimum of one (1) year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Clean driving record with no moving violations
- Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and perform physical activities including bending, climbing, stooping, reaching, and prolonged sitting - Ability to operate GPS systems, electric lifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and related equipment
