Job Title
Supervise all district assessment processes for special education services. Coordinate district special education programs and provide individualized programs for students with disabilities. Coordinate other non-special education programs and services assigned to the department.
QualificationsEducation:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (or similar field) state licensure or Educational Diagnostician certification Mid-management Certificate, Principal Standard Certificate or Supervisor Certificate, preferred
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Strong knowledge of evaluation procedures for special education Knowledge and understanding of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and 504 Section Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to interpret data Ability to coordinate and organize district programs Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in assessment or special education Campus or district-wide leadership experience Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate
