The Drafter is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for preparing accurate drawings and plans that support foundation repair projects. Each day, the Drafter collaborates with project managers and engineers to translate site assessments, measurements, and specifications into detailed CAD drawings, floor plans, and elevation views. The role includes revising and updating drawings based on field changes, documenting design notes, and maintaining organized project files.
The Drafter may assist with estimating quantities, creating permit-ready documents, and ensuring drawings comply with local building codes and company standards. This position involves frequent coordination with office and field teams to confirm design details, resolve discrepancies, and support timely project delivery.
- Ability to use drafting and CAD software (e.g., Punch; Arc Site) and produce precise technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of basic structural concepts, residential construction, and reading/creating plans and elevations.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, project managers, and field staff.
- High attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, document management) for project documentation.
- Relevant technical diploma, certificate in drafting, or equivalent experience; prior experience in construction or foundation repair is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in and occasionally visit project locations as needed.
