Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Scribe to join our dynamic team, responsible for documenting physician visits in the EMR system and supporting multiple physicians. As a scribe, you will have the opportunity to work hands-on with instruments when requested by physicians and conduct work-ups after doctor visits with patients. You will also communicate with patients based on the documented plan provided by the doctor.

Responsibilities

+ Communicate with patients according to the documented plan from the doctor.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in medical assisting and medical terminology.

+ Experience in patient care and EMR systems.

+ Familiarity with medical documentation and data entry.

+ Understanding of healthcare processes and ophthalmology.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a life science is a plus.

+ 1+ years of on-site scribing or related medical experience is a plus.

+ Strong multitasking abilities.

+ Ability to handle a high volume of patient care.

Work Environment

The role operates Monday through Friday, with hours scheduled between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM based on clinic needs. The position is part of a team of 8-24 individuals, with each physician requiring 8 clinic staff members. The work environment is extremely fast-paced, seeing 80-100 patients daily. Training will occur at the admin building in the Galleria. Employees are tied to three clinics, and schedules are provided two weeks in advance.

Occasionally, training may require travel to other clinics, with mileage reimbursed if outside the primary three clinics. The dress code is navy blue scrubs, with short, groomed nails, and all hair must be tied back.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pearland, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.00/hr.
