Overview

Support Staff Manager (VT or Experienced Veterinary Assistant) – Lead. Mentor. Inspire. Make a Difference. Galaxy Vets is looking for a Support Staff Manager to lead our team of Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants. This is more than a management position; it is an opportunity to build a thriving team, create an exceptional workplace culture, and help shape the future of veterinary medicine.

If you are passionate about coaching others, improving workflows, and working alongside your team in a fast-paced hospital, we would love to meet you.

This role combines clinical leadership with people leadership and is hands-on: you will continue working on the hospital floor alongside your team for approximately 30 hours each week, providing patient care, supporting workflows, mentoring staff in real time, and stepping in wherever needed. Outside of clinical shifts, you will focus on leading, developing, and growing the support staff team.

What You'll Do
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants
  • Create efficient schedules that keep the hospital running smoothly
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new team members
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance development
  • Build a positive, accountable, and engaged team culture
  • Partner with doctors and leadership to improve workflow and patient care
  • Ensure operational excellence while maintaining exceptional patient and client care
Qualifications

Required

  • Veterinary Technician (preferred) or an experienced Veterinary Assistant
  • Strong clinical veterinary experience
  • Leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable
