Summary:

Skilled CNC Machinist II. Set up, adjust and operate lapping and grinding machines and special types of machine tools. Perform diversified machining operations largely on standard work having tolerance and finish specifications requiring knowledge of machining practices and techniques.

Shift

Hours:

6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday.

• Works from drawings, sketches and specifications in completing various machining operations.
• Performs machine set‑ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting and alignment of machined parts.
• Obtains required inspections on first pieces of a run according to prescribed procedure and performs inspections on work‑in‑progress using a wide variety of measuring devices.
• Completes and maintains all necessary records of time, part counts, first piece inspections, and requisition forms, etc. for each job.
• Makes jigs, fixtures or other specialized non‑production devices as qualified and assigned.
• Acquires raw material, supplies, tools, etc. when necessary.
• Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion and conforms to all quality procedures and standards.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance of machines according to PM schedule.
• Troubleshoots drawings, machining, tooling, programming, material, etc. and makes competent decisions pertaining to job at hand.
• Utilizes Geometric Dimension & Tolerances as called out on print.
• Provides guidance and training to lower‑level machinist.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of CNC Machining experience.
• Must be able to measure parts using micrometers, calipers or other measuring tools.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.

• Clear communication, both oral and written.
• Organization skills; keep area clean to 5S standards.
• Meets productivity standards by completing work in a timely manner.

• Walks, stands, reaches, and bends frequently. Periodic lifting of moderate to heavy items may be required. Possesses good hand/eye coordination.

• Normal operations require eye protection, steel‑toed footwear, and occasionally hand protection.

• Exposure to normal machine shop environment with periodic noise. Limited disagreeable factors present.

This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
