Plasma Center Nurse RN

Job Description

Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.

This role supports plasma center operations as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse). You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations or a manufacturing environment, and adherence to Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance and center-level EHS support.

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needing to provide unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER per EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state nursing requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
  Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Successful completion of the FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Location:

Hourly wage range: $33.44 – $45.98. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
