Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager and working under the guidance of the Center Physician.
About the Role- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions, follow SOPs for medical emergencies, develop Center Physician's standing orders, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care.
- Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings or guidance on medical/technical issues, ensuring donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, determine need for occupational health evaluation, and follow EHS guidance regarding incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate‑level nursing program with state requirements.
- State license or certification in the assigned state (e.g., EMT‑Paramedic).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfilled state IV therapy requirements.
- Completed FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years clinical or hospital experience.
Location:
USA, Texas, Pearland.
Hourly wage range: $24.32 - $33.44. Actual wage based on qualifications, experience, and skill set. Wages comply with state/local minimum wage requirements.
