Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety‑focused CDL Driver to support daily operations of chemical distribution. The role involves safe operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non‑hazardous materials, both liquid and dry. Responsibilities include bulk and packaged deliveries, loading/unloading, documentation, and compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards. We enforce a "Zero Accidents, Zero Injuries" culture and provide reliable schedules, regular home time, and late‑model trucks with advanced safety features.
Responsibilities- Operate Class 8 tractors for chemical distribution.
- Transport HAZMAT and non‑hazardous materials, including liquid and dry products.
- Conduct bulk deliveries: load, offload, secure, and complete paperwork.
- Conduct packaged deliveries: drums, IBCs, pallets, supersacks, and complete required paperwork.
- Follow DOT, OSHA, and site‑specific rules during all job functions.
- Use safety equipment – pallet jacks, forklifts (certified), dock locks, levelers.
- Maintain and care for ELDs, virtual gateways, camera and tracking systems.
- Communicate with supervisor or dispatcher for delivery instructions.
- High‑school diploma, GED, or US military experience.
- Class "A" CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and/or Hazmat endorsement (as required). Current DOT medical card. Current TWIC card or proof of application (if required). Ability to drive a manual transmission.
- Must meet all driver qualification components (DQ).
- Experience with chemical delivery preferred; at least 1 year liquid bulk hauling or 3 years commercial truck driving.
- Certification from an accredited commercial driving academy preferred.
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends.
- Comfortable with general warehouse duties and use of applicable equipment.
- Strong organizational, customer‑orientation, and communication skills.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple English correspondence.
- Basic math skills and proficiency with technology devices (smartphones, tablets, transportation platforms such as Samsara).
- Local residency within sixty miles; no lodging provided.
- Pass pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and E‑Verify.
- Pass pre‑employment DOT fit‑for‑duty exam.
- Ability to sit and drive for long hours.
- Ability to step in and out of equipment safely.
- Ability to stage, move, set up, operate, and break down equipment during loading/delivery.
- Lift up to 75 pounds and push or pull up to 150 pounds.
- Wear required PPE, including respirator if applicable.
- Load and unload hazardous material; climb ladder.
