Responsibilities
Maintenance Support Tech I, II, III, and IV perform administrative support duties in a maintenance office or district headquarters, working independently on assignments with escalation of unusual issues to supervisors.
- Tech I – Answer calls, evaluate requests, route messages, and serve as receptionist or front‑desk assistant; assist in preparing monthly and final maintenance contract estimates; conduct monthly spot inventories and reconcile findings; maintain and update office records and automated systems; monitor and assist with data entry for maintenance contract record keeping; review and process records of completed maintenance projects; review and negotiate program purchases;
maintain calendars and process receipts and invoices; perform other job responsibilities as assigned. - Tech II – In addition to Tech I duties, assist with data entry for construction record‑keeping; compose and prepare correspondence and reports; prepare monthly and final maintenance contract estimates; maintain materials inventory.
- Tech III – In addition to Tech II duties, create and maintain activity logs, files, and reports; log, file, and cross‑reference correspondence and verify documents; prepare monthly and final maintenance contract estimates; maintain materials inventory.
- Tech IV – In addition to Tech III duties, train other clerical or technical staff; provide technical assistance with computers and software; provide assistance to the public.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience- Tech I – No experience required.
- Tech II – 1 year experience in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related field.
- Tech III – 3 years experience.
- Tech IV – 4 years experience.
- Valid driver’s license; position requires driving a state vehicle.
- Knowledge of office management practices and procedures, automated record‑keeping methods, computer systems and applications, purchasing methods and procedures, and effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, prioritize and organize work, and protect sensitive and confidential information.
- Initiative, self‑starting, and independent work performance; maintains composure under stressful or changing conditions.
- Sedentary work; lift up to 10 lbs. occasionally.
- Light work; lift up to 20 lbs. frequently.
- Must pass a drug test prior to employment.
- Required to work during emergency situations, weekends, holidays, and outside typical 8 a.m.‑5 p.m. hours; may be contacted after hours and respond within 45 minutes.
