The Construction Surveyor is responsible for conducting precise surveys related to excavation and backfill operations. This role involves measuring and mapping excavation sites, ensuring accurate depth and alignment for digging, and verifying backfill activities to support construction projects. The surveyor ensures that excavation and backfill work meets design specifications and regulatory standards.

$50.00 / hour

Schedule:

Monday
- Saturday 10 hours per day (6/10 schedule).

a per diem of $200 per day worked is available.

• Conduct Excavation Surveys:
  Measure and document site elevations, depths, and alignments before, during, and after excavation activities. Ensure that excavation work adheres to engineering plans and specifications.
• Monitor Backfill Operations:
  Survey backfill operations to verify that soil and materials are properly placed and compacted according to project requirements. Measure and record backfill depths and densities.
• Data Collection and Analysis:
  Gather and analyze survey data using tools such as GPS systems, total stations, and levels. Create accurate site maps and documentation reflecting excavation and backfill progress.
• Prepare Reports:
  Develop and present detailed survey reports on excavation and backfill activities. Document any deviations from plans and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
• Coordinate with Teams:
  Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, and contractors to provide survey data and assist in project planning. Address any issues related to excavation and backfill that may arise on-site.
• Quality Assurance:
  Ensure that all excavation and backfill work complies with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards. Perform quality checks and resolve discrepancies.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  Operate and maintain surveying equipment, ensuring that tools are accurately calibrated and in good working condition.
• Regulatory Compliance:
  Ensure that surveying activities meet all relevant local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain compliance with safety standards and environmental guidelines.

• Certification:
  Professional Surveyor (PS) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Previous experience in excavation and backfill surveying or related field is advantageous.
• Skills:
  
  Proficiency with surveying instruments and software, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rugged terrain and construction sites. Capable of performing physical tasks related to surveying.
