Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) Technician

Nationwide Travel (Based in U.S.)

Full-Time

• 5 days x 8‑hour shifts or 4 days x 10‑hour shifts
• Monday‑Friday with weekend travel as needed
• On the road (travel required weekly)

Alliance Technical Group is hiring an Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) Technician to join our growing team! This role requires regular travel across the U.S., often to rural oil and gas production facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude, oilfield operations experience, or environmental fieldwork exposure to enter the growing field of optical gas imaging. On‑job training will be provided to equip new hires with the necessary technical skills.

• Conduct Optical Gas Imaging surveys in oil and gas production environments using FLIR or similar thermal imaging equipment (training provided)
• Assist with emissions testing and related environmental monitoring tasks
• Operate and maintain field equipment and instrumentation
• Document findings and follow standard reporting procedures
• Adhere to safety protocols and client‑specific site requirements
• Travel extensively to sites across the country, often in rural locations
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate data collection and client satisfaction

• Willingness and ability to travel weekly
• High mobility and flexibility to work in remote or rural areas
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and team collaboration

• Experience using Optical Gas Imaging cameras
• Familiarity with oil and gas production equipment
• Background in oilfield maintenance mechanics or operations
• Experience working with tanks, batteries, compressor stations, or gas plants
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The pay range for this entry‑level role is $25-$30 per hour.
