We are seeking an experienced candidate to be the Field Engineer - Civil (Earthworks & Undergrounds) on the CCGT Project in Pecos, Texas. You will mobilize to the project on a long-term (camp) assignment in Pecos, TX. This position is contingent upon project award.
Job Summary:In this role Field Engineer - Civil (Earthworks & Undergrounds) you will provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.

Work Planning & Packaging
- Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
- Interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.
Material Management
- Initiates requisitions for field purchases
- Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
Quantities
- Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Technical
- Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
For Direct Hire:
- Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
- Reviews and approves inspection test plans
- Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
- Required bachelors degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Skills:
- Experience in large-scale bulk excavation and excavated materials movements.
- Experience in the installation of underground HDPE and carbon steel piping systems, including earthing grids and cathodic protection systems will be an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving ability
- Demonstrated commitment to environment, safety and health (ES&H) and quality
- Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules
- Prior experience with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) is preferred
- Experience with Simple Cycle or Combined Cycle facilities is preferred
