Peak’s Resident Wastewater Operator is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of a wastewater facility during a scheduled residency. Ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment, and other wastewater treatment equipment are always operational.
Essential Job Functions- Monitor effluent to maintain compliance and adjust treatment regimen as needed.
- Monitor inbound waste loads to ensure they meet the proper inbound parameters so that the waste will not negatively impact the plant's health or compliance status.
- Interact with and direct driver to adhere to safety procedures while on US Ecology property.
- Reach out to other operators and manager as needed for assistance in treating waste when issues arise.
- Promptly report equipment malfunctions, waste spills, and other issues to supervisor.
- Record daily system readings and inspections as needed.
- Enter data into information systems and maintain system records.
- Keep records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Keep logs and records of waste received and shipped off-site.
- Collect and process storm water samples as needed.
- Perform indoor and outdoor maintenance of the facility to ensure a tidy and safe work environment, including weed trimming and grass cutting as needed.

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Possess a valid Texas Drivers License.
- Maintain a good driving record and abide by all traffic laws, rules, and regulations when operating a company vehicle or equipment.
- Obtain and maintain a Class “D” Wastewater Operator Certification and achieve a Class “C” Certification within two years of receiving the Class “D” certification.
- Training offered.
- Communication skills, both written and oral.
- Read and log both analog and digital information.
- Properly utilize personal protection equipment as required by appropriate safety protocols.
- Operate powered hand tools.
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Physical Demands and Exposures- Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
- Shift work one week on, one week off.
- Work 24 hours a day which includes weekends and holidays.
- Exposure to noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.
- Prolonged sitting, standing, walking.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift: maximum 50 lbs.
