The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early‑stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery next year.
The candidate will act as the Field Superintendent‑ Earthworks & UG's – on the CCGT Project in Pecos, Texas. The candidate will locate on a long‑term (Camp) assignment to the project in Pecos, TX. This position is contingent upon project award.
The Civil Field Superintendent‑ Earthworks & UG's‑ provides onsite leadership for Civil construction activities primarily focused on the project's 7HA Single Cycle Gas Turbine Plants ensuring all work is executed safely, meets technical requirements, and aligns with project schedule and budget objectives. This role directs craft labor and subcontractors, oversees daily field operations, and drives workforce planning, progress reporting, and cost/schedule performance.
Working closely with engineering, construction management, and project controls, the Field Superintendent resolves constructability issues, supports the development of work scopes, and ensures effective use of automation tools and project procedures. The position plays a central role in maintaining quality, enforcing use of current design documents, and ensuring that tools, materials, and equipment are available to support efficient execution.
- Leadership / Supervision – Supervise up to 50 craft, schedule work, review accomplished work.
- Planning / Productivity – Determine workforce requirements and coordinate area operational plans.
- Tools, Materials & Equipment – Monitor tool and equipment usage, oversee preparation of field material requisitions and ensure crafts have required tools.
- Safety & Quality – Ensure current design documents used, approve design changes, verify compliance with specifications, schedules, and budgets.
- Technical – Work with construction field engineers, foremen and craft professionals to interpret engineering design documents, coordinate with design on constructability issues, oversee testing processes and instruments, inspect installed components, develop installation means and methods, apply industry and international codes and standards, utilize automation software, and maintain knowledge of earthworks & undergrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
- Previous experience delivering a power plant or large scale plant as Field Superintendent.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering design documents and vendor documents.
- Ability to coordinate with design on constructability issues.
- Experience overseeing engineering solutions with subcontractors, foremen and craft professionals.
- Competence with testing processes and required test equipment.
- Experience inspecting installed components for technical acceptance.
- Knowledge of earthworks & undergrounds and strong background in craft professional management.
- Familiarity with industry/international codes & standards.
- Capability to use automation software and processes.
- Able to work in trenches and open excavations.
